Is your website stuck in the past? (Maybe it’s time for a makeover)
In our last blog post, we talked about getting clear on your core services, peeling off what doesn’t serve you or your clients and tapping into the pain points and problems you solve for your customers. Now, let’s talk about how you’re showing up in the online world.
If your website is looking a little dusty and dated, you probably want to swap out that old style for a more modern look. Your site should truly reflect your brand and how you want to be seen.
What does your website currently say about you?
Many businesses think they can ‘set it and forget it’, never touching their website after it’s launched. They had someone build a site 5 years ago (or more – gasp!) and think they’re good. But the problem is… trends change, links break and if your site is not built to keep the attention of your audience, it’s not doing you any good.
One-one-thousand, Two…
That’s how long it takes for someone to form their first impression of your brand when they’re at your company’s website (Missouri University of Science and Technology). So if you’re site isn’t set up in a way that today’s visitors are used to when navigating or scanning your website, they’re going to bounce off your site. You want them to stick around and take action.
Fun Marketing Concept:
You’ve come a long way baby — The old ad campaign for a major cigarette company still has an impact even today although smoking has gone out of fashion.
Approach:
Remind businesses that their site is a direct reflection on their brand and have fun getting them to think about whether their website is stuck in the past.
What’s behind it:
Just as fashions change, website trends and user expectations evolve over time as well. Your brand and business can be interpreted as being just as dated as feathered hair, socks and wedges. Websites should be relevant and have a consistent look with your other marketing.
Results:
753 organic (aka non paid) views across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. The campaign has already generated 231 click-throughs and 5 leads. This is part of a series of posts run in one week. Just a taste of what we can do for you!
